Make a World of Difference

Community Conference at Santa Clara University

Dear Friend,

The Carry the Vision Community Nonviolence Conference (CTV) has successfully worked to build bridges of peace within our greater community for the last five years. To continue that dynamic work this year, CTV is sponsoring the Make a World of Difference conference, a Community Pre-Parliament event. This event is offered in collaboration with Santa Clara University and the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions and is an introduction to the global convening of the Parliament in Australia in December 2009. See www.ParliamentOfReligions.org

Experience the difference that one community can make when we come together to reflect on issues of mutual concern, explore the good work that is currently being done, imagine possibilities, and discover the inspiration to take simple but profound steps toward hearing each other and healing our earth.

Topics to be addressed at this  gathering:

·         Healing the earth with care and concern: focus on the environment

·         The role of women in local and global healing

·         Overcoming poverty and the millennium development goals

·         Social cohesion in communities

Note: Information about our keynote speakers and panelists, invitations for participating organizations, and the schedule for the day will be available soon.  Stay tuned!
