Speakers Needed for Interfaith Bureau

ING, the group which has for many years been providing speakers on Islam to schools, businesses, and civic organizations, is developing a new Interfaith Speakers Bureau. “A collaborative educational effort to teach across multiple faith communities, the Interfaith Speakers Bureau delivers onsite educational service through interactive panel presentations and discussions.” The bureau will begin with Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, and Islamic speakers, describing their respective faith traditions and also considering shared values, challenges of living one’s faith, and dealing with stereotypes and misconceptions.

ING is currently looking for people who are currently associated with a congregation or community of their faith, and who would be available for one to two hours at a time for presentations during the day, evening, or on weekends, and who are willing to travel within the San Francisco Bay Area.

Interested people should attend one of three training workshops scheduled for January 2008. All workshops take place from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm:

  • Mid-Peninsula: Monday, January 14, 2008
    Peninsula Temple Beth-El
