Eid Mubarak!

In the Muslim calendar, this week is the Hajj– the annual pilgrimage to Mecca which is one of the five “pillars” of Islam, and which every Muslim hopes to join at least once in his or her life. Tuesday is Eid al Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, which ends the Hajj and commemorates Abraham”s near sacrifice of his son (though Muslims identify the son as Ishmael, rather than Isaac). The Council on Islamic-American Relations (CAIR) has produced three radio spots to be broadcast in the Los Angeles area that highlight different aspects of this important Muslim holiday. You can listen to the spots or read the transcript by following the link below. To all our Muslim brothers and sisters we say “Eid Mubarak”- “Blessed Holiday!”
